Get to Know the Happi Studios Team: Meg Hoey

Meet Meg

Meg Hoey’s passion, dedication and vision has helped shape Happi into a fitness studio that is ‘more than a class’. She originally joined the team in 2021 as an instructor and Studio Manager before becoming the Happi Studios Head Trainer in September 2023. Today, we’re getting to know this incredible human a little better…

Tell us a little bit about you and your approach to movement.

Movement is a returning to the self.

In my Ride and Reformer classes, you’ll move through resistance, create heat in the body, challenge the mind, and ultimately engage in an exploration of your body and mind.

My classes are inclusive, calm, and welcoming, but I also love to bring the heat. I strive to hold space for my clients to get uncomfortable, and to explore the wisdom that lies beneath their discomfort. Expect a physically challenging workout that simultaneously allows you to explore and expand your own potential within a safe environment. You’ll leave feeling invigorated, grounded, centred, and powerful.

I have a degree in Psychological Science and my classes are heavily influenced by the mind-body connection. In my class, you will move through mental exercises for physical wellbeing, and physical exercises for mental wellbeing. My classes are inspired by principles of strength training, Somatic movement, and psychology.

What is your background in the fitness industry?

Movement has always been an integral part of my daily life. I like to explore movement through a wide variety of practices including Mat and Reformer Pilates, Yoga, strength training, cycling and hiking.

My teaching journey started over 5 years ago. I began teaching group fitness and Reformer Pilates classes as an “on the side” job whilst completing my Psychology degree.

I started at Happi Studios in 2021 where I began teaching Barre, Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates. Fast forward a couple of years and I am now Head Trainer at Happi, teaching and leading an incredible team of Rhythm Ride and Reformer Pilates instructors! I’m very grateful for the journey so far, and I’m looking forward to continuing to expand my personal and professional practice at Happi Studios.
